The Fresno State Winery will host its first wine club shipment pick-up of the year from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, in the winery bottling room (2360 E. Barstow Ave.). The four-bottle shipment will feature the 2017 albarino, 2016 merlot, 2017 pinot noir and the 2017 sauvignon blanc, which received a silver medal at the 2018 San Francisco International Wine Competition.
Those attending can taste each wine and a special edition campus sherry that will be on sale for $20 while enjoying cheese, crackers, bread, campus olive oil and Stafford’s Chocolates. Viticulture and Enology Department students and campus winemaker Thomas Montgomery will discuss the behind-the-scenes processing.
Membership is free and comes with a variety of benefits. A new shipment arrives every four months and costs vary from $45 to $60, which is 20 percent off the normal price for the Central Valley’s most popular wine. INFO: Fresno State Winery, 559.278.6070 or winery_info@mail.fresnostate.edu.
