The fall 2018 Leon S. Peters Ethics Lecture Series begins with “Constitution Day: Dialogue for Democracy” on Sept. 15 and a panel discussion on “Hate Crimes and the Impact on the Minority Communities” on Sept. 19. Other topics in the series include Restorative Justice and the School to Prison Pipeline, Ethical Leadership with Jim Boren, and The Rights of Children.

A dialogue about the Constitution and the state of our democracy with table conversations, a mock ballot, and expert panels. Topics include immigration and the judicial branch. Co-sponsored with Fresno County Civic Learning Partnership and other community partners.

Ethical Leadership with Jim Boren
In this lecture, Jim Boren, former executive editor of The Fresno Bee, will offer words of wisdom about ethical leadership based on his experience in covering leaders though our community and the world. Boren was honored in May 2018 with an award for Ethical Leadership by the Fresno State Ethics Center and the Lyles Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. He is the executive director of Fresno State’s new Institute for Media and Public Trust.

Panel Discussion: Human Rights Day: The Rights of Children
