(June 29, 2018) — A variety of Fresno State farm products will be available at a new campus farm stand at the The Square at Campus Pointe this summer from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday evenings from July 2 to Oct. 5.
The farm stand will offer popular Gibson Farm Market items such as sweet corn, fresh fruit and vegetables, olive oil and jarred salsas, sauces and jams.
Other new summer products such as a sweet corn salsa, sausages and mustard may also be featured and are produced on the 1,000-acre University Agricultural Laboratory that is operated by Fresno State staff and students.
“We’re excited to showcase our fresh farm market products to a new group of customers who are enjoying dinner or shopping at Campus Pointe,” said Jeremy Lewis, Gibson Farm market manager. “Central Valley farm stands are a local institution since many shoppers enjoy learning how their food is raised, so many of our campus farm-unit managers and students will be on hand to answer questions and share their pride in being part of the nation’s leading agricultural area.”
The Square at Campus Pointe opened in July 2015 as the largest mixed-use, public-private partnership in the California State University system. It offers a 16-screen movie cinema, 13 restaurants and four stores. Located on the east side of the Fresno State campus off of Chestnut Avenue, it is adjacent to the Save Mart Center and Palazzo and Palmilla apartment complexes.
The Square at Campus Pointe also hosts free salsa dancing from 7:30 to 10 p.m. on the third Monday of each month and stroller workouts for moms from 9 to 10 a.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
In addition, Campus Pointe’s will host three more Rock the Mall events with 95.7 The Fox from 6 to 9 p.m. on June 28, July 12 and July 26. Families are invited to bring lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy classic rock music in the open air.
Campus farm market products are also available daily at the Gibson Farm Market (5368 N. Chestnut Ave.). Summer hours are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
