Fresno State nutrition and dietetic students will host Bulldogs in the Kitchen cooking and dietary planning sessions for the University’s student-athletes from 6 to 8 p.m. April 23 through 25 and April 30 in the campus kitchen laboratory (Family Food Science Building, Room 108). Student-athletes from the women’s basketball, football, track and field, volleyball, water polo and women’s tennis teams will learn how to prepare multi-course Italian and Mexican meals. Menu items include appetizers, salads, enchilada casserole and lasagna entrees, non-alcoholic mojito and Italian soda beverages and a multi-grain waffle dessert, as well as vegetarian options. Over 300 student-athletes have participated in the program that started in 2009 and also emphasizes healthy meal planning, grocery shopping, budgeting and basic kitchen techniques.
