Fresno State nutrition and dietetic students will host Bulldogs in the Grocery Store nutritional information tours for Fresno State students and the community from Friday, April 6 to Saturday, May 12 at the Save Mart Supermarket at 5750 N. First St. The one-hour sessions will teach attendees the importance of fruits and vegetables from fresh, dried, canned, frozen and juice products. Fruits and vegetables provide essential vitamins, minerals, fiber and phytonutrients and encourage healthy immune systems. The eight-person tours will include free educational materials, coupons, budgeting tips, recipes and cookbooks. Dr. Lisa Herzig, Fresno State dietetics and food administration program director, is coordinating the program that was created by a $5,000 grant from the Produce for Better Health Foundation.
