Madera Unified School District students will tour the Fresno State campus farm from 9:30 to 11:30 a. m.  Thursday, June 15, to learn about agriculture career and educational opportunities. The 40-student visit, which will include stops at dairy processing, animal science, horticulture nursery, vineyard and Gibson Farm Market facilities, is part of the Madera Summer Ag Camp now underway (June 12 – 15) sponsored by the Madera Community College Center and agriculture business program. Dr. Ganesan Srinivasan, dean of instruction at Madera Community College Center and a former Fresno State campus farm manager, will coordinate the farm tour with Jordan College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology faculty and staff.  “Through this summer camp, we hope to get our youth excited about education and career pathways in agriculture by showing the multitude of exciting opportunities that exist in agriculture,” said Srinivasan.  “They will see that with a college education, there are job opportunities for every level of training in agriculture.” INFO: Srinivasan at 559.305.6159 or ganesan.srinivasan@scccd.edu.
