The First Amendment and Freedom of Speech Forum, 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1 in the North Gym (Room 118) will feature a keynote address by Dr. Tina Botts, assistant professor of Philosophy, and the panel presentation “First Amendment In Practice” with University experts. Botts’ research intersects law, race, feminist philosophy and social and political philosophy. Fresno State President Joseph I. Castro and Provost Lynnette Zelezny will open and close the free event respectively. Forum panelists include Dr. Andrew Fiala, chair of the Department of Philosophy and director of the Fresno State Ethics Center; Dr. Doug Fraleigh, chair of the Department of Communication; and Darryl Hamm, University General Counsel. The event, presented by Associated Students, Inc., the Academic Senate and the Office of the Provost, will be moderated by Associated Students, Inc.
