The Fresno State Livestock Judging Team won the Western Fall Classic college team title in the advanced division and placed second in the novice division on Oct. 2 in Medford, Oregon. Fresno State junior Amy Dierberger and senior Cameron Rocha were the top two overall placers in the advanced division. Junior Arianna Koster placed eighth. Four Fresno State students ranked in the top 11 in the novice division: senior Hannah Bianchi (second) and juniors Jacob Pignone (eighth), Mitch Behling (ninth) and Kyle Bean (11th). Contestants were scored on their evaluations of various livestock species and verbal explanations. The advanced section included six sets of reasons and the novice division was composed of three-question classes. The team next competes in its only home event of the fall, the Big Fresno Fair Livestock Judging Contest, at 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at the campus livestock pavilion.
