Fresno State President Joseph I. Castro and student Ag Ambassadors will help welcome guests from around the globe to the World Ag Expo in Tulare Tuesday-Thursday, Feb. 10-12.
Castro and his wife Mary will attend the 21st annual California Agriculture Leadership alumni breakfast from 6:30-8:30 a.m. Thursday.
The Castros will then visit the Fresno State Center for Irrigation Technology mobile education center at 9:15 a.m. at the PGE&E booth (U53), hosted by the David Zoldoske, center director, and education specialist Bill Green.
At 10:30 a.m., exposition-goers are invited to a free ice cream event hosted by Castro and Jordan College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology Interim Dean Sandra Witte.
Castro will be interviewed live on the Ray Appleton Show at the KMJ News Talk Radio booth at 12:30 p.m.
The Jordan College Ag Ambassadors will host the University’s information booth in the Hilvers Building from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday.
Ag Ambassadors advisers Desi Molyneux, a University Outreach Services counselor, and Dr. Steve Rocca, associate professor in agricultural education, will be on hand at the booth all three days sharing tips on admission and opportunities within the Jordan College.
This year’s expo is expected to draw 100,000 visitors from 70 countries to see the latest in farm equipment, chemicals, communications and technology from 1,400 exhibitors on 2.6 million square feet of exhibit space. More event information is available at www.WorldAgExpo.com .
