The annual Water-Wise Plant Event will be 8 a.m.-noon Saturday, May 3 at the Fresno State Horticulture Greenhouses (3150 E. Barstow Ave; northeast corner of Chestnut and Barstow avenues). The free, public event will feature a “give and take” of drought-tolerant plants suitable for a Fresno-area garden as well as workshops on how to create a succulent dish garden, information on composting, the importance of micro-irrigation and drip systems and how to successfully grow vegetables in a drought. Master gardeners will be on-site to answer questions.
