Fresno State goes prime time this spring when the new Spanish-language telenova “El Talisman,” set in the San Joaquin Valley and with two teen characters cast as Fresno State students, debuts at 8 p.m. on the Univision Network across the nation.
Airing locally on KFTV, Channel 21.1, the 120 episode series is co-produced by Venevision and Univision Studios. It airs at 8 p.m. each weekday.
The show, produced at Univision’s Miami studios, will feature video footage of Fresno State, as well as university apparel, souvenirs, banners, posters to create an authentic look.
KFTV promotions manager Andres Sanchez said the campus depictions may not be in the opening episode, but will be incorporated throughout the series.
The series features Blanca Soto, from the network’s hit novela “Eva Luna.” Isabel Burr and Sandra Itzel portray Fabiola and Florencia Negrete, who attend Fresno State in the series.
